CITY CENTER ALLENTOWN IS NOW PRELEASING WALNUT STREET COMMONS, OPENING MAY 2019 IN DOWNTOWN ALLENTOWN
City Center Investment Corp., the real estate development company revitalizing downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania, announced today it is preleasing and accepting deposits for Walnut Street Commons, its 61-unit residential building that will wrap around the Community Deck parking structure at 6th and Walnut streets. The five-story building will welcome its first residents in May 2019.
The Walnut Street Commons project marks City Center’s first development outside of the Neighborhood Improvement Zone (NIZ).
Designed by Bernardon Architects, the pet-friendly building will include studio, one- and two-bedroom units, with the first-floor Walnut Street apartments having walk-up access. The 70,000-square-foot building will include two community lounges, a coffee bar, a fitness center, a business center, personal and bicycle storage, direct access to the parking deck and a main entrance on 6th and Walnut streets.
The units at Walnut Street Commons will feature 9-foot ceilings, open gourmet kitchens with stainless Energy Star® appliances, subway tile backsplashes and quartz countertops, luxury bathrooms and full-sized stackable washers and dryers. The building will provide a locker system for delivered packages and cold groceries, 24/7 monitored surveillance and controlled access. The property will also offer onsite professional management, maintenance and concierge services, including pet walking and pet sitting.
Monthly rent for studio units will start at $967, one-bedroom units will start at $1,275, and two-bedroom units will start at $1,570. All Walnut Street Commons residents will receive a complimentary membership to the Allentown Art Museum and discounts at LVHN Fitness, The Baum School of Art, Miller Symphony Hall and downtown retailers and restaurants.
“Walnut Street Commons provides the best of both worlds – a classic brownstone-style neighborhood just around the corner from the bustling downtown,” said Walnut Street Commons Community Manager Robert Fox. “This building offers all the amenities and comfort of luxury urban living while maintaining the feel of a cozy, timeless neighborhood.”
City Center’s existing residential communities in downtown Allentown include STRATA West, STRATA East, STRATA Symphony and 520 Lofts. The 376 units among those four buildings have been leased. City Center is currently developing 312 upscale residential units on Walnut Street at 7th and 8th streets.
